a-bot-team´s long league unbeaten run came to an abrupt halt last night with a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of preston rangers.
preston rangers – a-bot-team 4-0
Whilst some might say the result was a bit harsh for our lads, the fact is that they were well outplayed by a very good side.
presten went ahead after only twenty minutes and up unitll four minutes from the end, the game could have gone either way.
38 year old Ryurik Izmestiev and 37 year old Malcolm Warren couldn´t keep the pace and were punished for it, with three quick goals.
“We’re all really disappointed”, admitted Warren at the post-match press conference. “We didn’t take the chances when they arose, and we’ve paid the price”.
“I’ve also got to hold my hands up and say frankly I got the tactics wrong”, he added. “We anticipated they would attack on one flank, but our defence was too central”.
a-bot-youth-team slipped down to third place after loosing for the second time in a row.
The sbarbati boys went two goals up only to see abyt level things off, Calvin Tonge netting one before the break and Abel Akpom after the break.
The home side took command from then on scoring three time, making it 5-2, with only seventeen minutes to go. That was too much for the bot-youth, they could only score one further goal, Calvin Tonge´s second, but that couldn´t change the result.
The match ended 5-3 for the home side.
a-bot-team moved to resolve their defender crisis this evening by signing 18 year-old Austrian, Simon Oberauer from Liga IV side ugurugu.
A fee of just over £666,000 was agreed and Simon will go straight into the squad for Sunday’s league match against warstock warriors.
