a-bot-team kicked off the new season in front of 32256 spectators at Kretowisko, and sent the vast majority home disappointed having defeated FC RSVM 1-6 to get off to the perfect start.

League FC RSVM – a-bot-team 1-6

New signing, Goatsemodime Magolego, needed only fourteen minutes to get abt off to a perfect start, scoring on his debut after a mistake by the home side’s central defence.

RSVM´s Taylor Ryan scored to make it 1-1, only to see Luka Burns put the away side back in front after thirty-five minutes. Olivier Moreau increased the lead to 1-3 four minutes before the half-time whistle.

After the break abt increased the pressure on RSVM´s defence by substituting Olaf Haberger with Darren Barnes in midfield. The tactical change didn’t seem to pay off until a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Olivier Moreau of abt to slip through the defence and scored his second of the day.

Luka BurnsLuka Burns received a delicate pass through the home side’s central defence after seventy-nine minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1-5. Luka completed his hattrick with a fine move on the left in the eighty-fourth minute.

 

Malcolm Warren was delighted with the result.

“We were outstanding today. It was so important that we got points on the board early, and we have done exactly that”, he said.

“Our aim this season is simply to survive, so to get three points on the board early is invaluable to us”. He added, “We’ll have our work cut out this season but above all, we must win our home games. That’s one out of one so far, while anything we take on the road is a bonus”.


Youth Academy

The weather was overcast with clouds and that’s how the game started for a-bot-youth-team in match three in the new youth season.

The home side was 3-1 up sixty-seven minutes into the game and looked like they were going to be the new league leaders. A minute later abyt pulled one back and equalized four minutes later.
New recruit Peter Clarke intercepted a sloppy pass in central midfield, stepped past his marker and fired a cute shot into the bottom corner.

abyt kept the upper hand and secured position one in the league and the 100% record.
