The dando – a-bot-team 1-0
a-bot-team started with a defeat in their opening match of the new league campaign, going down by 1-0 away to The dando.
It sounded as if the radio repoter kept repeating himself during todays live commentary on ‘Bot Radio’.
“The ball glanced off the crossbar” and “the shot rattled off the post” also “only managed to hit the bar” was all you could hear from him as a-bot-team did everthing possible to score in a game in which we seemed destine to loose.
Here is a short aperture of that commentary.
abt nearly took the lead, as Glenn Munn-Giddings broke through on the right. Keeper Alexandru-Ştefan Popescu made the save, however.
a abt counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but Ryurik Izmestiev’s shot rattled off the post.
Darren Barnes almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced off the crossbar.
Jerome Vaccaro, scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
Manfred Tegland suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar.
It was just one of those days!
a-bot-team – VILLEMANOCHE FC 2-4
a-bot-team´s cup run came to an abrupt halt this evening despite a 2-1 half-time lead when they were beaten by VILLEMANOCHE FC 4-2.
大輝 堀内(Daiki Horiuchi) put the visitors one up only to see the home side 2-1 ahead at half-time thanks to strikes from Olivier Moreau and Luka Burns.
The crowd was silenced two minutes after the break when MANOCHE drew level as Guido De Silvestri scored.
The visitors took the lead after 62 minutes making the score 2-3, Miguel Donella placed the ball just out of reach for the home side’s keeper.
a-bot-team now attacked with everthing they had, and were punished by a brilliant counterattacking goal from Kenny Troelsen.
A little disappointed after the 2-4 defeat, coach Woodhall said,
“We were up against a quality side today, and while I don’t think the winning margin was an accurate reflection of the game, there’s no denying that they were worth their win”.
Hull Huskies – a-bot-team 2-1
Another close Yorkshire derby with Hull Huskies saw a-bot-team ending the season with a disappointing 2-1 defeat.
The players were disappointed that they had not managed to put the home side under more pressure, but while naturally disappointed with the outcome, Woodhall praised the players’ efforts saying, “I’m proud of the lads today. They’ve come here and played a very, very good team, and although we have lost narrowly, they can hold their heads up high”.
The team finished the season in second place, one possition higher than last season, lets just hope we can continuie climbing the ladder again next season in our quest for our first league win.
